Background: The mission of the Infectious Diseases Institute (ID) is to build capacity of health systems in Africa for the delivery of sustainable, high quality care and prevention of HIV/AIDS and related infectious diseases through training, research and advanced clinical services IDI has four operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission prevention, care and treatment: training; research; and laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University John Hopkins University Core Lab). As part of a plan to sustain its main objectives, IDI has created (1) position in the Finance Department as follows

CASHIER
Role summary: Working under direct supervsion of the financial controller,the cashier will take safe custody of office imprest accounts.
He /she will also be in charge of cash collections, banking, effecting and accounting for cash payments

Responsibilities:
• Collecting payments from clients for services rendered/to be rendered
•Arranging for and banking all monies recieved
• Drawing cash from bank as authorized.
•Effecting cash payments, as authorized
• Following-up payments from office Imprest. to ensure reimbursements
• Preparing and issuing receipts
• Maintaining initial books of account, ledgers and journals
Education and Experience:
•Diploma in Accounting or in Business Administration ,or Finance management (majoring in Accounting)
• Experience of at least two years in a busy Accounting
Additional, requirements.
• Honesty-and trustworthiness
• Ability to maintain records in orderly manner
