GAPCO Uganda Ltd. is one of the major Oil Companies in Uganda and markets a wide range of products including but not limited to fuel and lubricants. The Company is currently expanding and is seeking to recruit suitable qualified persons for the following positions:
4. Terminal Manager: (1 position) REF: TM Location: Kampala Key Result Areas:
· In charge of all Terminal Operations viz. Receipts, Storage and Distribution of Petroleum products and related depots.
· Operate the Terminal with most cost effective manner including preparation of Capex/Opex budgets proactively and monitoring of expenditure against sanctioned budget.
· Implementation of HSSE policies and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) of the organisation.
· Coordinate and conduct all operations in line with laid down SOPs and Quality and Quantity norms of the Organisation.
· Coordinate and ensure replenishment of product to customers and Retail Outlets, maintaining cordial customer relations and derive customer satisfaction.
· Ensure NIL detention/demurrages on tank trucks/tank wagons/ship/barges during loading/unloading operations.
· Ensure correct stock accounting of the product(s) in accounting software (SAP) and contain product losses within the targets given.
· Ensure to keep product flow meters and other provers calibrated as per statutory norms.
· » Develop staff and vendors for maintenance/housekeeping of facilities in the location(s) and ensure condition monitoring, preventive/breakdown maintenance of the facilities as per norms/SOPs.
· Coordinate with counterparts in other marketing companies on all activities of distribution, operations, transportation, statutory norms and HSSE.
· Coordinate with local authorities and ensure timely renewal of all statutory approvals and licences.
· Ensure to train staff, contractors on correct Operating and HSSE procedures.
· Coordinate and liaise with Head Office and ensure various MIS reports are delivered with analysis.
· Work effectively with other marketing companies, Government agencies, building and sustaining external and internal relationships using seasoned judgement coupled with integrity.
Skills and Experience
· An Engineer with minimum 10 years experience in Petroleum
· Operations in Terminals preferably in East Africa,
· An MBA in Finance will be an added advantage..
· Should have commercial acumen and analytical capabilities.
· Should have critical attributes of Planning and coordinating skills, interpersonal relation and teamwork, innovative and achievement orientation.
5. Depot Manager: (2 positions) REF: DM Location: Kampala/Jinja Key Result Areas:
· In charge of all Depot Operations viz. Receipts, Storage and Distribution of Petroleum products.
· Operate the Depot with most cost effective manner including preparation of Capex/Opex budgets proactively and monitoring of expenditure against sanctioned budget.
· Implementation of HSSE policies and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) of the organisation.
· Coordinate and conduct all operations in line with laid downSOPs and Quality and Quantity norms of the Organisation.

6. Maintenance Engineer: (1 position) REF: ME Location: Kampala
Key Result Areas:
· Plan routine maintenance of equipment and machinery.
· Attend promptly to machinery breakdown, diagnose faults and oversee time-critical repairs.
· Employ sophisticated, computerised systems to schedule work
· Oversee maintenance personnel works
· Incorporate efficient methods of maintaining new equipment and be involved in installation and commissioning process.
· Ensure proper follow-up and timely completion of projects.
· Develop asset care policies, which include liasing closely with suppliers, customers and different departments.
· Directing and supervising maintenance technicians and fitters.
· Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings and components.
· Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs.
· Ensure that activities are carried out according to work plan and budgets and produce periodic reports.
Skills and Experience
· A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
· Minimum working experience of 3 years in a manufacturing company.
· Good knowledge of computer management and applications.
· Good planning, organising, analytical ability, problem solving and written communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to understand key company objectives.
· Good negotiation skills.
· Possession of strong leadership qualities, high level ofintegrity, self-motivated and persuasive.
· Willingness to work anywhere in Uganda and in the East African region.
