1. How do I start my search for a job?
Use the Jobsearch window

You could use the search window given on the home page, where you need to input Jobsearch Keywords and Location preference for the job that you are looking for. To ensure that you get the best out of the search, please be specific in the keywords that you input. For example, Jobsearch keywords that you enter could be like marketing and FMCG. Avoid using general words like any because this will not yield accurate results.

When you click on the search button, after entering your jobsearch keywords and the location, you will see the results of your search in the form of a list of jobs. Against each job you will get information on that vacancy/job i.e. the designation, the company profile, post date . To get further details on any job that interests you, just click on that job from this list. You will get all details for that job that are available with us including the contact information for that company.

Use the All Jobs option
You could also search for jobs by clicking on the particular category of jobs that you are interested in on the home page, under the section All Jobs. For example, if you click on Media > Reporters and Correspondents, you will arrive at a list of job vacancies available in that category. Against each Job , you will get the designation, the company profile, and the post date. Just click on that particular vacancy to get all the details that the company has provided including the contact address/telephone number/email for that company.

2. When I have identified a job, how do I apply for that post?
You could use the My Resume. This provides you the facility to apply for jobs online, with the added benefit of confidentiality.

Alternatively, you could send your resume with a cover letter by email, to the email address given for a particular vacancy. Otherwise, you can send a hard copy of your resume with a cover letter to the postal address of the company if specified in the vacancy details.

Please adhere to the contact information given in the details of the vacancy when you apply for it, as we have no other information other than what the company has provided in its vacancy listings.

3. How are your jobs sourced?
Most of them are vacancies put up by our clients, that are unique to our site.In addition, as a public service, our researchers have put together some vacancies from published sources in the public domain.

4. When will I get a response?
When you send your CV to a company for a particular vacancy, the transaction is now between you and the company.

We only provide information on vacancies.

5. I am having problems signing in?
If you are having problems logging in, you may have entered an incorrect username and / or password. In this case, make sure you are inputting the exact username and password created for your account as your account details are case sensitive. In case you are managing to log-in and are repeatedly getting logged out, you may need to enable cookies on your browser.

6. I forgot my username / password ?
If you have forgotten either your username and / or password, please fill in the relevant information in the form at: http://www.ugandajobline.com/lostpassword.php and we will email you the details of your account.

7. How do I subscribe as an employer and/or a jobseeker?

Employer Subscription: Subscription to use ugandajobline.com is very simple for employers. All you have to do is click on the "employers" button on the main Home Page of ugandajobline.com and follow the instructions to register.

Jobseeker Subscription: To register with ugandajobline.com, a jobseeker should click on the "SIGNUP " button on the main Home Page of ugandajobline.com and follow the instructions to register.

8. What is Job Alert?

A Job Alert is where a jobseeker sets up certain criteria for the type of job he/she is looking for and ugandajobline.com alerts him/her whenever a job that fulfills the set criteria is found in the database.

9. Can I access my Account after my credit has expired?

Yes, using your username and password you can access your expired account to only search and view jobs, update your cv and edit your cover letter. To apply for any job, you will be required to renew your membership.

10. How do I change my Password?

To change passwords for both employers and jobseeker, Click on Change Password on the Main Menu to the left once you are logged into your account and you will be prompted to enter your Current Password and then a New Password that is confirmed. Each time a new password is generated, the previous one is automatically disabled.

11. How do I change my registration details?

To change registration details log into your account and click on " Edit Personal Profile" link located in the left hand menu , and make the desired changes. Note: You cannot change your your username.

12. How do I make the payment?
Sending us your resume by inputting online is the first step. It does not tell us what to do with your resume unless you specify which service you want. You cannot apply for a job online. Anyone can input their resume/CV which is a free facility. However, without corresponding payment for a particular service your resume will just be part of our internal database . This could be accessed by special clients, but to proactively contact recruiters, it is better that you use our paid services. Once you decide the services you want you can inform us along with sending us your payment in the name of Uganda Jobline. Ltd.

13. How do I know that the service I asked for has been completed?
Once the service that you asked for is completed, we will send you an e-mail to inform about this status.

14. What is the success rate of getting a job through ugandajobline.com ?
The success rate of getting a job through ugandajobline varies greatly. The success rate depends to a great extent on 3 factors i.e. the quality of your CV, the market position of your skill set, and your performance in the interview. Registering with us cannot guarantee a job but it maximise your chances of finding the right job by ensuring that your CV reaches the maximum number of recruiters who will contact you when your CV matches a job profile available with them.
